Artist In Residence
Matt Jones
Matt Jones is a ceramic artist whose work explores the landscapes, histories, and mythology of the American West. Working across both functional pottery and sculpture, he creates thoughtfully crafted ceramic objects that examine the evolving relationship between people and the places they inhabit. His practice is rooted in a deep appreciation for clay as a material, combining refined craftsmanship with themes of cultural storytelling and environmental reflection.
Originally from Colorado, Matt earned his B.A. in Ceramics and Art Education from Colorado State University and is completing his M.F.A. in Ceramics at Louisiana State University. Alongside his studio practice, he has taught ceramics at the high school and university levels and has participated in residencies and exhibitions across the country.
